A great audiobook is the result of a solid collaboration between author and narrator. The following guidelines will help our collaboration to go as smoothly as possible.

My Process

I’ll begin every project with a read-through of the book to develop a unique voice for each character. I’m always happy to go with what’s on the page in doing this, but I welcome your input at this stage on how you envision each character’s voice and persona.

ACX & Findaway Voices Projects

The balance of the full amount (which is based on actual finished time and may differ from the estimated final amount) is due upon acceptance of the full, completed project.

Independently Contracted Projects

Once we agree that I will record your book, we’ll coordinate two dates based on your needs and my production schedule: 1) the first 15 minutes of the book, 2) the completed audiobook. 50% of the estimated final amount is due upon approval of the 15-minute checkpoint file. The remaining balance of the full amount (which is based on actual finished time and may differ from the estimated final amount) is due upon acceptance of the full, completed project. The end credits and retail sample will be withheld until the full balance is paid. Any notes on characterization should be received one week before the first 15 minutes of the book is due.
